Hi, I'm Kelly. I'm the face behind Apple Tree Photography

I grew up in a small town, and despite my insistence as a kid that I'd move away to a big city, I planted my roots right back here in this little town called Edgington, Illinois. I live in a farmhouse that was built before 1900. I love my husband, Dan, our daughter, Amelia, and our dogs, Maggie & Gwen.

I studied journalism in college because I loved the idea of documenting what was happening in my own community. I spent my days as a kid inside reading books and writing stories, and I see photography as a creative way to tell the stories of everyone in front of my lens.

I've been taking pictures for more than 7 years now, and my favorite part has been watching people change and grow into the beautiful humans they're meant to be. It's amazing to capture those sweet, tender moments, those inside jokes, and the giggles that follow. I love comparing sessions to see how much people have changed since their last shoot.

I love to write, read, listen to music, and watch entirely too much TV. Hiking, long drives with no destination, and eating ice cream also make my short list. Fall is my favorite season, but Christmas has my heart. I love antiques, birthday cakes, and Disney movies.

I primarily photograph people, places and things in the Quad City area in Iowa and Illinois - Moline, Davenport, Rock Island, East Moline, Silvis, LeClaire, Eldridge, Aledo, Muscatine, Sherrard, Orion, Andalusia, Edgington and Taylor Ridge just to name a few. I'm always up for an adventure though, so I'd love to explore somewhere new if you have anywhere in mind!
